CCC Ming Yin College is a Aided Co-ed secondary school located in Hong KongThe school was founded in 1966. The school is located in Sham Shui Po, and covers an area of approximately 3300 square meters. The supervisor/chairman of the school management committee is Lee Chee Wah Mr.,And the principal is Lee Yeung Chun Eddy Dr. (Cert. Ed.(Distinction), M.Ed.(Distinction), PhD). The sponsoring body of CCC Ming Yin College is The Hong Kong Council of the Church of Christ in China and is a Protestantism / Christianity school. Secondary One Entrance

Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2023 ).All applicants will be arranged for the first interview. Applicants of our school S.1 Discretionary Places should have excellent performance in both academic results and conduct. Admission Criteria and Weightings:

Orientation Activities and Healthy Living

Different measures and activities are carried out to help S.1 students adapt to a new learning environment. Two class teachers are assigned to each S.1 class so as to offer full support and care to students. Orientation programmes, seminars, online learning and bridging programmes and Big Brothers and Big Sisters programme are provided for S.1 students and their parents in order to help the newcomers cope with the secondary school life and adapt to the use of English as the major medium of instruction in classrooms. To raise students’ English proficiency, the school has been offering English pronunciation class and oral practice to S.1 students. In order to improve students' physical fitness, regular sports activities and training are held. Different school sports teams are formed for students to participate in inter-school competitions. Moreover, different sports-related inter-class competitions are held by sports societies every year. Senior form students are provided with opportunities to explore the sports world with a variety of learning experiences in bowling, ice-skating, boxing, darts, rugby and fancy rope-skipping during their regular Physical Education lessons. Health-related theory lessons and talks are organized on a regular basis. To strengthen students’ confidence and nurture their musical intelligence, the school has been providing training and performance opportunities for students, like the shows co-organized with the Hong Kong Disneyland, cross-boundary music tour, Christmas caroling, Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and music camp.

School-based management is practised. Incorporated Management Committee is set up to achieve efficient and effective school management to enhance quality education. Different committees and teams are formed: Academic Committee, Discipline Committee, Counseling Committee, General Affairs Committee, Extra-curricular Activities Committee, Religious Affairs Committee, Life Education Committee, Careers and Life Planning Committee, Information Technology Committee, Staff Development Committee, Parent-Teacher Association and Old Students' Association, among which connection is well maintained.

There are 12 members in the Incorporated Management Committee including 7 managers nominated by HKCCCC, 1 manager elected by the school teaching staff, 1 manager by alumni, 1 manager by parents, the Principal and 1 independent manager. Mr.Lee Chee Wah has been appointed as the School Supervisor and Chairman of the Incorporated Management Committee since the 2021/22 school year.

School Green Policy:
The Environmental Protection Ambassador Scheme is promoted to enhance the awareness of students about energy saving. The scheme helps students promote a green lifestyle. Low-carbon School Scheme is introduced. T5 fluorescent tubes have been installed in all classrooms, laboratories and school hall. Solar panels have been installed to enable students to learn more about renewable energy facilities and take part in greening the school campus.

Learning and Teaching Plan

Whole-school Language Policy:
English is adopted as the main medium of instruction. For details, please refer to the subjects offered/to be offered in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 school years. To cater for learner’s diversity and to enhance their language proficiency, small class teaching is adopted at junior forms in both Chinese and English lessons. Public Speaking lessons are offered for S.1 students and Drama Education lessons are offered for S.2 and S.3 students in English. Putonghua is offered as a core subject for junior form students. Being aware of the language policy which aims at training students to become biliterate and trilingual, a variety of activities and competitions such as reading award schemes, reading session, debates, drama competitions, English musical, story-telling competitions, etc. are organized to motivate students to achieve language proficiency.

Learning and Teaching Strategies:
English is adopted as the medium of instruction. The school aims at strengthening students' motivation and abilities in learning and encouraging self-learning. The school curriculum is diversified to cater for individual students' needs and interests. Collaborative lesson preparation together with peer lesson observation is arranged to let teachers have in-depth discussions and sharing on teaching. The school also employs IT technicians and teaching assistants to facilitate multimedia teaching and other life-wide learning activities in order to raise the teaching efficiency.

1. Electives: 3X. The school offers 11 elective subjects for our students. All S.4 students are required to choose 3 elective subjects from the 11 elective subjects since the 2021/22 school year.
2. Curriculum highlights: The school has been providing a broad and well-balanced curriculum to all students. The Junior Secondary curriculum is ever improving, with Self-Directed Learning as a main goal, while the Senior Secondary curriculum is thoroughly planned. The curriculum integrates students’ learning with their daily lives, provides them with diversified learning opportunities, and develops their critical and high order thinking skills. Students learn through Other Learning Experiences (OLE) such as participating in English drama, variety show performances and all sorts of life-wide learning activities.

Development of the Four Key Tasks:
Our school has integrated the four key tasks, which are implemented in school lessons and extra-curricular activities, aiming to help students develop the knowledge essential for life-long learning, independent learning ability, positive values and attitude towards life and the sense of recognition on their national identity. Through different kinds of reading programs and the promotion of the School Library, the school has arranged a series of activities to arouse students' interest in learning and to enhance their reading strategies and skills. Apart from this, our school has implemented cross-curriculum project-based learning in PSHE subjects in junior forms. Information Technology and the e-platform are served as tools to develop students information literacy and generic skills, and to enhance students' interactive learning and communication between teachers and students outside the classroom.

Life Planning Education:
The school offers various types of career and life planning programs to support students in their self-understanding, personal planning, reflection and goal setting such as S.6 Mentorship Program. Other activities range from individualized, small group and large-scale career guidance related activities to theme-based activities and workshops so as to help students discover their strengths, weaknesses and abilities. Life planning education has been integrated into the school’s curriculum as well. Student Support

Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity:
A variety of scholarships and awards are offered to students to encourage achieving students and those who have improved the most. The school also recommends and subsidizes outstanding students to participate in the Gifted Students Project organized by the local universities. On the other hand, the Counseling Committee works with the Discipline Committee in implementing tailor-made programs for students with diverse abilities and special education needs. Furthermore, a peer counselling program is held to provide opportunities for our senior form students to be trained to lead or to support the juniors, especially the newly admitted S.1 students and to help them adapt to the learning environment and gain spiritual support with school life. To address to preparation for senior secondary school life, programs are designed for enhancing life skills as well as leadership skills for S.4 and S.5 students respectively. Study skills workshops are organized for S.5 and S.6 students to equip them to face the challenge of DSE with confidence and ease.

Whole School Approach to Integrated Education:
The Student Support Team implements a comprehensive school policy on catering for the needs of students with special education needs (SEN). The team deploys manpower and other resources flexibly to assign teachers of different key learning areas (KLAs) to attend the relevant training courses. With the help of the Counselling Committee, social workers and educational psychologist, the school would assess the needs of each student with SEN on a case-by-case basis, and if necessary, draw up an Individual Education Plan (IEP), which includes after-school learning support and social, attention and emotional management skills training. The school also provides the most appropriate counselling service on the career and life planning of these students, making necessary special arrangements regarding their promotion, selection of elective subjects in the senior secondary curriculum, as well as special time allowance, seating and venue arrangements in internal and public examinations.

Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos

Home-School Co-operation:
Our school works in close collaboration with parents to facilitate students’ academic, mental and physical development. We have built a good partnership through various channels, such as the Parents’ Day and parent-teacher workshops. Our parent volunteers also offer great assistance to the school in different activities to enhance students’ growth.

School Ethos:
The school advocates “holistic education”, and places emphasis on academic excellence, moral, behavioral and spiritual development of students. Students are offered ample opportunities to cultivate their interests and abilities in different areas (e.g. "One Student One Musical Instrument Scheme", solo-verse speaking training and drama training). Our school, renowned for its purity and simplicity, provides an ideal environment for students to pursue their studies. A series of Life Education, Moral & Civic Education and Religious Education activities are organized in order to nurture students’ spiritual development and positive values in life. A peer counselling program is held to provide opportunities for our senior form students to be trained to lead or to support the junior students. To cater to the diverse abilities of students, the school has been encouraging them to join a variety of supportive activities, such as Leadership Training Program, Be a Champion Scheme, Junior Leadership Training, Joyful@school and MY Partner MY Pathway Program, so that students can learn to tackle problems by themselves and establish positive values in life. Teacher Professional Training and Development:
The Staff Development Committee provides training on teaching and learning on Staff Development Days and throughout the year. The school also arranges mentors for new teachers to help them adapt to the school life. Training subsidies are offered for teachers to encourage them to go for further studies and attend training courses.

Life-wide Learning (including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be provided through Key Learning Areas, extra-curricular activities, co-curricular activities, etc.):
There are a number of societies and uniform groups, such as the Korean Language and Cultural Group and the English Drama Club, which fall into six categories: Academic, Aesthetic, Physical, Recreational, Service and Student Union. Others

Students are polite and well-disciplined. They strive for the best in both academic and non-academic areas. Students are provided with ample opportunity to participate actively in various kinds of activities and competitions such as International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), Huaxiabei National Mathematics Olympic Competition, etc.
The school maintains close ties with alumni, the community and external organizations. The Mentorship Program offers students opportunities to visit universities and commercial organizations and to learn through attending experience sharing workshops organized by the alumni. Interflow activities such as Class-based Voluntary Community Services as well as Gifted and Talented Program are coordinated to widen students’ horizons and enrich their learning experiences.
