Orientation Activities and Healthy Living

In order to help the new Form 1 students to adapt to the secondary school curriculum and life, a free-of-charge 3-week Bridging Course is conducted during summer holidays from July to August consecutively. The programmes include Classroom English, Phonics, Putonghua Adaptation Series and other multiple-intelligent activities which are highly appreciated by the parents. Besides, various Parents' Workshops as well as an Orientation Night are organized before the new academic year. About 25% of the F.1 places are reserved for discretionary purposes. However, the performances in Conduct and Academic Achievements are the main prerequisite in the F.1 Admission Criteria.
In order to have a healthy life in school, the school implements a series of schemes and programmes, such as the "Classroom and Campus Cleanliness Campaign". Emphasis is also placed upon fostering behaviour such as taking good care of public property and respecting others. The school also arranges healthy lunch for students and encourages students to lead a good and healthy life with regular exercise and healthy diet. School Management Organisation:
Both PTA and Student Association obtain opportunities to participate the affairs of School Administration. Our school has been a keen member of the International Alliance for Invitational Education (Hong Kong) and Singapore Education Ministry Learning Circle Project. Through flexibility in resource allocation, we provide appropriate and diversified support services to enhance students' learning effectiveness and help them integrate into campus life.
Student Support Team includes the Vice-Principal, Special Education Needs Coordinator, Prefect of Studies, Guidance Mistress, Social Worker, Educational Psychologist and Teaching Assistants. Good teacher professional development is the reason for a large number of capable and well-trained teachers to support SEN students.
Learning Support Grant is used to provide specific measures in supporting students with SEN including teaching adaption, assessment accommodation, remedial learning groups, individual education plan and outsource professional services (e.g. training on social skills, speech therapy services).
Mechanism in soliciting parents’ views and discussion on student progress are well established. Curriculum accommodation and differentiated teaching strategies help students obtain quality teaching, additional support and intensive individual support.
