Emphasis on enhancing students' proficiency in both Chinese and English, which helps to train up students' communication skills and social skills.
Learning and Teaching Strategies:
We employ student-centered education so as to go along side with the development of education. We introduce efficient teaching strategies and reforms to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning, to cultivate students' ability of generic skills, and more importantly, to lead them into "learning to learn". To align with the development of the society, we evaluate the school curriculum regularly. We carry out school-based curriculum and life-wide learning and provide diversified learning experiences to cultivate a positive learning attitude in students. We have established school-based reward reading scheme for students. In order to help students establish a good reading habit, there are both online reading programmes for Chinese and English languages. To promote reading to learn, students are encouraged to participate in writers' talks, book fairs and they also write book reports.
School-based curriculum:
1. Electives: 2X. Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, Business, Accounting and Financial Studies, Information and Communication Technology, Tourism and Hospitality Studies, Visual Arts
2. Curriculum highlights: Teachers design different school-based curriculum according to the traits of the students and the development of the school to enhance students’ learning experiences and to achieve a better teaching effectiveness.
Development of the Four Key Tasks:
1. Reading to learn: Students are encouraged to take active part in 'The School Extensive Reading Scheme', online reading schemes for Chinese and English, and the results are encouraging. Students are also asked to read extensively in other subjects like, Economics, Integrated Science and L.S. S.1 students are formed into small groups to participate in a cross-curriculum project. To prepare students for the NSS, their potentials of collaboration, IT skills, problem-solving skills and study skills are consolidated and developed by involving in the process of observing, interviewing, surveying, data organizing and analyzing.
