Learning and Teaching Plan
Whole-school Language Policy:
1. To provide more chances for students to use English, Science, Mathematics and Computer Literacy are supplemented by Extended Learning Activities in English in some classes.
2. Students will be assigned to the classes according to their Pre-Secondary attainment test results and the students / parents’ preferences.
3. Students, based on their overall subjects’ grades, especially the English subject’s grade, may apply to study in the classes which mainly use English as the MOI when promoted to Secondary 3 or 4.
Learning and Teaching Strategies:
1. Lessons are designed to be student-based and interactive; and assignments are diversified.
2. Emphasis has been placed on catering for learner differences; remedial and enhancement measures are taken in this regard.
3. A diversified NSS curriculum with 13 electives is provided to satisfy the various interests and needs of the students. In addition, a third language, Japanese is introduced as an option for students to choose from. Both Chinese and English classes are offered in some subjects.
School-based curriculum:
1. Electives: 3X. A total of 100 combinations of subjects are available for students’ selection.
2. Curriculum highlights: School-based curriculum is adopted for computer literacy, religious education and ethical education, and design and technology.
Development of the Four Key Tasks:
1. There is a school-based Extensive Reading Scheme in which students need to read at least ten books under core reading with the assistance of the subject teachers. Class-based and subject-based reading programmes are encouraged, relating reading to subject knowledge. A personal Reading Portfolio is kept by each student, helping them to monitor their own reading progress. There are morning reading sessions every Tuesday and Thursday, which help establish a good global reading atmosphere.
2. Extensive IT facilities which address every area of the curriculum facilitates interactive learning.
3. Generic skills are cultivated through project learning in different subjects.
4. A comprehensive curriculum was designed for moral education and civic Education, including Taoism Education, Teenage Growth Project, to address the needs of students.
Life Planning Education:

Student Support
Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity:
1. There are split groups in the core subjects.
2. There are enhancement and remedial schemes in the English, Chinese and Mathematics departments.
3. Teachers adjust the curriculum and the teaching methods according to students' needs.
4. Tutorial / remedial classes are provided to those students with weak foundation.
5. Various measures are implemented to cater for those students with special educational needs.
Whole School Approach to Integrated Education:
The school adopts the "Whole School Approach to Integrated Education" model to promote integrated education. We formulate a "School Based Integrated Education Policy", and establish a SEN Team to provide support for students with special learning needs. The school uses the "School Support Grant" to provide support services for students. Through teachers training, staff meetings, case meetings, class observations, and individual interviews, the school assists teachers to identify students with special learning needs and understand the characteristics and needs of the students so as to make appropriate coordination and support.

Close communication with parents is maintained through newsletters, gatherings and joint activities with the Parent-Teacher Association. We aim at developing a close relationship with parents so as to elicit their co-operation and partnership in educating our students and supporting the school events.
