School Management Organisation:
The school is managed by the Incorporated Management Committee. Different functional groups are set up to manage student affairs and facilitate students’ academic development while the School Administration Board is responsible for formulating school goals and policies.

The Incorporated Management Committee of Munsang College (Hong Kong Island) was established in 2008. The members include sponsoring body managers, the Supervisor, the Principal, parent managers, teacher managers, alumni manager and independent managers.

Learning and Teaching Plan

Whole-school Language Policy:
In accordance with fine-tuning the policy of medium of instruction, our School has been using English as the medium of instruction for all academic subjects excluding Chinese Language, Chinese History, Putonghua and Religious Education (Christianity) since 2010-11.

In order to cultivate a rich language learning environment and promote bi-literacy and tri-lingualism, English and Putonghua are adopted as the languages for communication.

Learning and Teaching Strategies:
Students are assigned to read different levels of English texts in accordance with their standards. While various major subjects have been promoting after-class reading through a variety of assessment formats like project learning, some of the scores will be taken as part of the subject term mark with a view to widening students' scope of learning and fostering life-long extensive reading habits.

School-based curriculum:
1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Our school has offered 13 electives.
2. Curriculum highlights: Small class teaching is adopted for English Language. Students are streamed into five to seven divisions according to their ability in English in order to cater for learner diversity.

Co-organizing with external organization, the school offers students opportunities to take Spanish and Japanese courses in junior forms and senior forms respectively to expose themselves to different cultures.

Development of the Four Key Tasks:
To encourage students to read more as well as widen their scope of reading, strategic reading is implemented across various subjects through specially-designed projects and assignments. They can also develop their skills in collecting and analyzing data as well as their ability in self-study through independent research in different subjects which are designed according to the subject nature and student needs.

The Life Education curriculum is a six-year course specially designed for nurturing holistic development in students. Conducted by form teachers and professionals in related fields, the curriculum helps to inculcate proper moral and spiritual values, cultivate a positive personal outlook and enhance students’ physical and mental strengths. The provision of widened exposure to various learning experiences and chances to reach out to the community and the world also helps prepare students to be all-round citizens.

Life Planning Education:
The Careers Guidance and Life-planning Team of the School aims at nurturing students through a comprehensive career guidance and life-planning framework. With the CLP-curriculum run in class and activities held outside the classroom fostering students’ self-understanding, goal-setting and reflective thinking, students are allowed to discover and extend their potentials, make right decisions at different stages and realize their academic and career aspirations.

Home-School Co-operation:
To further enhance the communication between the school and our parents, Parent Teacher Association has been set up. With our awareness of the problems faced by teenagers and parents nowadays, it is our goal to help parents enrich their parenting skills for better parent-child relationship. Also through building a solid parent-school partnership, we aim to work hand-in-hand to bring up our next generation with great concern in their holistic development.

School Ethos:
Teachers are always the role models of students. Great emphasis of moral education is placed on obedience, courtesy, humility, self-discipline and self-management. Through school-based Life Education Programmes, we aim at cultivating students' positive value and attitude to life. Self-advancement Scheme has been implemented throughout the school to encourage students to make improvements in all aspects of school-life. Students are encouraged to develop their interest and explore their potential through joining different extra-curricular activities, some of which are outsourced to professional instructors and coaches, such as all instrumental classes and various school teams.

C. Inter-class activities are held to boost class spirit, including the School Picnic, Bulletin Board Design Competitions and various sports competitions.

Students have active participation and outstanding performance in Mathematics, sports, Music and Speech Festival competitions. They also take up different leading roles in the Student Association, House Committees, Prefect Team, Guidance Leaders Team, Library Committee, Careers Ambassadors, Life Ambassadors, English Ambassadors and Joint-school Form Committees.
