New Asia Middle School is a Aided Co-ed secondary school located in Hong KongThe school was founded in 1973. The school is located in Kowloon City, and covers an area of approximately 13000 square meters. The supervisor/chairman of the school management committee is Wat Kai Chau Mr.,And the principal is Leung Suk Ching Ms. (BA, DipEd). The sponsoring body of New Asia Middle School is New Asia Educational Cultural Association Ltd. and is a non-religious school. The mission of the school: "1. To carry on the spirit of a broad humanities education of New Asia College and to promote Chinese culture.

Orientation Activities and Healthy Living
Several activities including parents’ day, orientation week and bridging course are held during the summer holiday. A growth camp called NA TEEN is held after the new school year has started.
"Love in New Asia" is a series of healthy campus activities the school organizes to help students, through a variety of physical tests, realize the importance of a healthy life and to develop the habit of doing exercise. Besides, there are lessons and talks on sex education and various intelligence development activities to increase students’ confidence and sense of belonging.
Junior form students are to stay in the school for lunch (nutritious lunch) and there is a Fruit Day each year.

Policy of school-based management is adopted. Curriculum highlights: The school offers Life and Society, Humanities to broaden students' scope of knowledge and through cross-subject project learning to develop high-level thinking skills in them. In junior forms, adapted materials are used to cope with learning diversity in English, Chinese and Mathematics. In other subjects, materials are also designed according to students' ability and lessons are carried in collaborative mode to raise learning motivation and effectiveness.
Development of the Four Key Tasks:
1. Learning through reading: Our school adopts a whole-school approach to promote reading. Apart from having reading schemes with awards, we also organize reading sharing talks and seminars. Our reading policy includes (a) New Asia reading festival (b) the collaboration between the library and different subjects to promote extensive reading (c) lunch time reading sessions (d) the setting up of a reading corner in every class.
2. Project learning: For S.1, students' ability to learn through projects is nurtured through Humanities. For S.2, students are divided into small groups to finish a project through field trips, experiments, interviews and so on under supervision of Humanities, Integrated Science teachers. For S.3, Personal, Social & Humanities Education requires each student to complete a research proposal in order to their independence.
3. Interactive learning through information and technology: There are eclassrooms for every subject in our e-learning platform. Mathematics, Basic Accounting, Humanities and Integrated Science have set up learning platforms on the internet. 100 iPads have been brought for online pedagogical uses, sharing, discussions and interactions.
Life Planning Education:
Aims at helping students to understand themselves, clarify their value system, become more confident, set up goals and reflect so as to make reasonable self-requests and to raise self-effectiveness. Another objective is to enhance students' understanding of various situations in the working world and different paths for further studies and career development so as to set up their life goals earlier and work hard to achieve them. Career and Life Planning, on the one hand, directs students to acquire, based on their interests and ability, the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed for making appropriate decisions in further studies or career development and, on the other, links up studies, life goals and whole-person development with life learning. Also, students will be reminded that life planning is hot a once-and-for-all process. To achieve expected effectiveness, repetition of things are necessary to strengthen ideas.

Student Support
Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity:
1. Class teachers play the role of discipline master and counsellor to take care of students' conduct and growth as well as to help them set up learning goals and strategies;
2. Students are divided into learning groups in some subjects (English, Chinese and Mathematics) so that comprehensive teaching and thorough care can be carried out;
3. There are enhancement and remedial classes and different kinds of external competitions for students to join after school.
Whole School Approach to Integrated Education:
Using ‘Learning Support Grant’ flexibly, our school increased more manpower. With the whole school approach, all teaching staff are involved to implement integrated education to provide students with appropriate and diversified support services, to enhance their learning effectiveness and their engagement in school life.
The Student Support Team (SST) consists of vice-principal, counseling mistress, SENCO, educational psychologist and teachers. There are collaboration works with other teams/subjects, for example, the counseling team’s ‘Healthy School Policy’ and the career guidance team’s ‘Life Planning’, to cater for the needs of students with SEN.
The main duties of the SST include gaining educational psychologist’s curriculum adaptation and teaching support, offering and monitoring speech therapy services, and providing learning, assignment and assessment adjustment for students with SEN.
