Secondary One Entrance
Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2023 ). Applicants' school academic results, conduct and interview performance weigh 60%, 10% and 30% in admission respectively. All applicants will be interviewed. Tasks given are English conversation and small group discussion, each part weighing 50%. An applicant's manner, language ability, communication skills and analytical thinking will be considered.

Orientation Activities
The school organizes a bridging programme for S.1 students before the start of new academic year, in which tutors are hired to teach an English program and alumni are invited to be team tutors to jointly help students enhance their English learning ability as well as adaptability and problem-solving skills to face changes and adapt to secondary school life. Besides, the school has established “Big Brothers and Big Sisters Scheme” through which some senior form students can help the development of S.1 students in school.

School's Major Concerns:
Based on the spirit of Christianity, our education focuses on students’ physical, mental, spiritual and academic development. In addition, the school implements STEM and IT education in order to raise students' abilities.

The Incorporated Management Committee of our school was established on 31 August, 2015. The IMC managers include members from the sponsoring body, teachers, parents, alumni and one independent professional from the community.
School Green Policy:
Environmental protection is one of the prime concerns of our school. Clear guidelines have been set up for the proper use of air-conditioners, and students are encouraged to participate in rubbish recycling by making use of the recycle bins available on all floors and the covered-playground. As a member school of the Green School 2.0 project, we have setup solar panels on the roof-top to generate renewable energy and have replaced all air-conditioners with VSD type and lighting with LED type for all classrooms. “Green Ambassadors” are responsible for promoting environmental awareness through various activities, such as “no air-conditioning day”. These put the ideas of energy saving and reducing greenhouse emissions into action.

Learning and Teaching Plan
Whole-school Language Policy:
English is adopted as the medium of instruction in all subjects except Chinese Language, Liberal Studies, Chinese History, Physical Education, Life-wide Learning, Religious Assembly, Ethics, Religious Studies and Visual Arts. The school is committed to providing an English-rich learning environment and authentic contexts for students to practise the language learnt in English classes. Through various activities, such as One-minute Inspiration speeches given by students, sharing sessions conducted by the NET and alumni, and subject-based English learning activities, students are provided with more peer learning opportunities. In addition, with the implementation of English self-directed Learning Award Scheme, students are encouraged to learn English outside classroom. By implementing the Language Across the Curriculum course, the school aims to help S.1 students adapt to learning various subjects using English, develop their language and examination skills in these subjects, and enhance their presentation skills that are necessary for project work.
Learning and Teaching Strategies:
The school strives to consolidate students' basic knowledge, develop their generic skills and encourage in students' positive value and attitude. An enquiry approach is adopted in our curriculum which focuses on active and interactive learning in lessons, encouraging students to learn through questioning and discussion so as to develop their higher order thinking and ability to construct knowledge. Besides, in order to provide better education for different types of students, the school joined the Quality School Improvement Project offered by CUHK. Through attending seminars as well as implementing collaborative lesson preparation and lesson observation, we aim to equip teachers with more effective teaching strategies to take care of our students. The school also provides life-wide learning opportunities, which aim to foster students' generic skills through extending, enabling and enriching the knowledge obtained in the classroom. Besides, teaching with I.T. is adopted by our subject teachers in lessons to raise the effectiveness of learning. The use of tablet computers and various online learning platforms (e.g. Schoology and HKEdCity’s Online Question Bank) helps with e-learning and m-learning inside the classroom and also for extended activities to raise the effectiveness of teaching and learning. Starting from academic year 2021-2022, electronic whiteboards will be installed in classrooms. The upgrade in hardware can enhance interactions among students and peers, hence learning efficiency and effectiveness. Bring your own device (BYOD) policy has been implemented in our S.1 students since 2021-2022 and this policy will be applied continuously in the future.
School-based curriculum:
1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Our school provides different combinations of subject electives for students to choose from.
2. Curriculum highlights: To cope with different student’s interest and the trend of social development, starting from 2021-22, the school offers Visual Arts and Tourism and Hospitality as two new elective subjects for students to choose from. As for junior form, junior form curriculum focuses on helping students understand the basic subject knowledge. It connects with senior form curriculum and aims at developing students' ability, values and attitude. In 2021-22, school-based curriculum integration is practiced in junior forms, including the subjects Science, Technology Education and Arts Education, etc.
Development of the Four Key Tasks:
The school endeavors to develop the four key tasks set in the new curriculum. In line with Reading to Learn, various activities like Reading Week, Inter-house Reading Competition, and on-line reading are organized. On top of these, native English teachers are employed to lead students in English reading activities so as to promote and encourage reading. In the area of Project Learning, suitable project themes are planned with the collaboration of different subjects to cultivate students’ enquiry spirits and generic skills. As for Information Technology Teaching and Learning, the school encourages students to enhance their learning effectiveness through taking part in e-learning and mobile-learning with the aid of iPads and different online learning platforms outside lessons. To cope with the current development trend in e-teaching, apart from making use of different kinds of iPad software for interactive and assessment activities, teachers constantly attend different professional development programmes on e-learning. For the last key task, Religious, Moral and Civic Education, the school implements “Life Education” to help students calm their spirit and reflect on the meaning of life. Student Support
Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity:
Various schemes and activities were planned and implemented to cater for student diversity in school. For better caring of students in classroom learning, small group teaching is practiced in S.1 and all senior forms, in which 7 smaller groups are arranged in S.1 for language lessons while regrouping 4 classes into 5 smaller groups is implemented in senior forms. Besides Homework Tutorial Class, Enhancement Courses and Revision Classes, the school recommends students to attend Enhancement courses held by tertiary institutions and The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education. To provide a suitable environment for our students’ development, co-class teacher scheme is implemented in S.1-S.3. In addition, Leadership Training and Sunshine Schemes are provided for catering to the needs of students’ development.
Whole School Approach to Integrated Education:
The school set up the SEN team in the year 2008-09 to implement Inclusive Education. The team consisted of members from different committees, heads of Chinese and English Panels as well as the educational psychologist, the speech therapist, the social worker and the teaching support assistant of our school. The members completed related professional training, and used the Learning Support Grant for Secondary Schools to design some school-based supportive programmes for students with special learning needs to help them better cope with the curriculum. The school also used this grant to source services from outside school organizations so as to design individual and group activities for students in need. To better co-operate with parents, the SEN team also invited parents to attend meetings, to jointly stipulate personal learning plans for students with special education needs and to review the effectiveness of the plans regularly. It also organized workshops for parents to help them take care of and teach their children effectively.

Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
Home-School Co-operation:
We strive for a good partnership between parents and school for providing quality education to students. Various educational events for parents are held each year to help parents have a better understanding of their children’s learning in school. These include an orientation seminar for S.1 parents, themed talks or seminars for parents of each form and parents’ days (held three times each year). Furthermore, the PTA organizes a number of activities which provides a sound foundation for home-school cooperation.
