Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2023 ).Admission criteria for discretionary places include academic performance (50%), performance at an interview (25%), conduct, extra-curricular activities, services, awards, expertise and talents (25%).

Orientation Activities and Healthy Living

Starting from mid-July, we have various kinds of activities arranged for new S.1 students, including English bridging class, S.1 Parents’ Night and a day camp for discipline training and solidarity development. We also provide an orientation programme at the end of August to help students to adapt to school life.
We actively organise different activities to promote a healthy life style. The focus is raising students’ awareness of mental health and to teach students how to keep a positive mental attitude when facing stress and pressure. Activities for developing a caring culture include workshops, small groups about mental health, game day, talk, educational videos and cheering up activities for S.6. Through different activities, students are also reminded to avoid unhealthy habits and to stay away from drugs.

The hall and all classrooms are air-conditioned. Multi-media projectors, visualizers, iPads and computers with Internet access have been installed in all classrooms. There are two multi-media learning centres, technology laboratory, a student activity room, the English Learning Centre, fitness room and the School Archive. School Management Organisation:
We have implemented school-based management. There are various departments covering work related to co-ordination of teaching and learning, curriculum development, religious affairs, multi-media and IT applications, extra-curricular activities, life-wide learning, discipline, counselling, campus management, publicity, home-school co-operation, etc. We emphasize the importance of health and we were awarded the title of Honourable School in the Tai Po Health Promoting Schools Project, run by Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital. We emphasize the culture of self-evaluation for improvement and enhancement of school effectiveness.

The Incorporated Management Committee has been established. Parent, teacher and alumni managers have been elected.

School Green Policy:
Our school emphasizes the importance of environmental protection and the Eco-captain in each class helps to enhance students' environmental awareness. We encourage students and staff to reduce wastage of food and to use minimal resources in venue set-up. We have set out recycling bins to facilitate waste recycling and we have developed codes of practice for air-conditioning use to raise awareness of energy saving in classrooms. Teachers are also reminded to minimize the consumption of paper, including using double-sided printing and greater use of electronic resources.

Whole-school Language Policy:
We employ English as the main medium of instruction (For details, refer to the subjects offered in 2022/2023).
1. We organise a summer English bridging programme for the new S.1 students to facilitate a smooth transition to an EMI learning environment.
2. We set up an English Learning Center in which students can learn English in a relaxing way.
3. A wide variety of English activities is organised to stretch students' English language proficiency in an authentic context.
4. To enhance students' "biliteracy and trilingualism", we actively implement 'Language Across the Curriculum', Chinese and English Extensive Reading Schemes, and strongly encourage students to participate in Speech Festival and Putonghua activities.

Learning and Teaching Strategies:
Our school places emphasis on enhancing students’ skills in ‘learning to learn’ and building up self-directed learners.
1. We promote e-learning to broaden knowledge, increase motivation and to develop skills for self-learning.
2. We refine ‘Language across the Curriculum’ to train students to integrate organizational thinking and language skills for better mastery of different subjects.

A. We provide Integrated Technology at junior levels to promote STEM education.
B. We implement ‘Language Across the Curriculum’ to help students to learn different knowledge structures so as to develop students’ organisational thinking and enhance their English proficiency.
C. We implement Cross-curricular Project Learning at junior levels to help students to develop research skills. The subjects involved are Liberal Studies, Chinese History, History and Geography.
D. Aesthetic Development in senior forms provides students with formal aesthetic education. The curriculum aims at enriching students’ knowledge of art and developing their abilities to appreciate and criticize art.

Development of the Four Key Tasks:
1. Moral and Civic education: Daily morning devotion, assembly, form period, Christian Ethics, thematic exhibitions and activities help to promote moral and ethical education, civic education, Basic Law education, human rights education, national education, anti-drug education, life education, sex education, education for sustainable development.
2. ‘Reading to Learn’: We arrange a morning reading time daily. Both Chinese language and English language subjects promote extensive reading in junior forms to cultivate students’ reading interests, habits and reading strategies that students are empowered to build knowledge and explore topics of interest to them by reading.
3. Project Learning: The skills of project work are developed in different subjects at junior levels, and they are applied in project work in senior levels.
4. Information Technology for Interactive Learning: We have set up on-line learning platforms and use applications and programmes to raise students’ language competence and enhance learning in different subjects.

Life Planning Education:
For junior forms, school-based materials ‘My Growth Journal’ is developed to help students understand their interests and abilities. Students would be able to make wise choice in their subjects selection through individual talk with class teachers. The Life and Career Education Committee provides students with a wide range of programmes. Programmes include individualised guidance, small group activities and large-scale activities such as workshops, talks and career visits etc. All the programmes help to equip the students with the knowledge, skills and attitude to make informed and wise choices on their further study and career development in accordance with their traits, interests, abilities and orientations.

1. Shining Pearl Scheme: Running a sponsorship scheme for high-achieving students to join external elite programmes.

Whole School Approach to Integrated Education:
SEN Unit has been established since 2010, seven core members include the SEN coordinator, educational psychologist, social worker, SEN teacher and representatives from different committees. Regular meetings are called to formulate policies and activities to promote an inclusive culture at school campus. To ensure timely provision of appropriate support services, learning support grant is flexibly deployed to arrange trainings and small groups for students. ‘Individual Educational Plan’ will be designed to cater for the learning needs of students if considered necessary. Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos

Home-School Co-operation:
Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has been established for over 20 years since 1997. The Annual General Meeting and Parent Night serve as a communication channel between the school and parents. The PTA regularly organises educational programmes on different topics for parents. The PTA seminars, workshops and visits help to broaden parents’ perspectives and set a good example of life-long learning for their children. Parents actively participate in the parent volunteer team. Such participation not only allows them to utilise their skills but also supports school development and facilitates parents’ mutual support. Interest classes, picnics with their children, fellowship, sales of used school uniforms and community visits have all proven popular with parents. The PTA has also set up a Scholarship, Student Development Fund and Emergency Relief Subsidy to encourage and facilitate students' all-round development through financial support.

School Ethos:
Our school centers on an ethos of morality, integrity and discipline. Equal emphasis on both discipline and guidance enhances students’ virtues. To develop self-discipline and self-discovery, we organize a range of developmental, preventative, and remedial programs such as ‘Form Briefing Session’, ‘Budding Leaders (Boys in Junior Form)’ and ‘Pupil Ambassador Scheme (EDB)’ to equip students with capabilities to be future leaders. To address the developmental needs of junior form students and to help them discern the right from wrong and to change for betterment, a system of dual class teachers is in place. Moreover, we invite prefects to be the group leaders of orientations and Guidance Angels to foster care, support, and harmony among students of different forms.
