Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2023 ).Admission criteria: Rank Order List provided by the Education Bureau (30%), interview performance (25%), academic results in primary school (20%), connection with our school (10%), conduct (5%), extracurricular activities (5%), awards (5%).

Orientation Activities and Healthy Living

New S.1 students need to participate in learning skills lessons, a bridging course and some orientation activities held in mid-August. In late August, students will join a two-day overnight camp for integration into the new secondary school life and a parents' day will also be held to let parents understand the school’s mission, environment, expectations and requirements for students.
The school has a green kitchen to provide students with a balanced lunch, rice and vegetables are freshly cooked in the school kitchen on the same day.
S.1 & S.2 students are required to have lunch at school.

School Management Organisation:
A school development committee has been set up, which is composed of the principal, vice-principals, subject panels and unit heads, and is responsible for discussing and formulating school policies. The school organization is mainly divided into three areas: learning and teaching, student development, and school management. Learning and Teaching Plan

Whole-school Language Policy:
1. Our school adopts both Chinese and English as medium of instruction. In S.1 to S.3, in addition to English subject, Mathematics and Integrated Science are taught in English by class. In S.4 to S.6, English is adopted as the medium of instruction in Mathematics and some electives in some classes.  
2. Our English lessons are conducted in small groups in most of the classes. An English Speaking Day is held every Thursday so that students have more opportunities to communicate with others in English. The English Corner also provides a good environment for students to do oral practice.

Learning and Teaching Strategies:
S.4 to S.6 students are divided into 5 groups from four classes, and small class teaching is implemented to improve learning effectiveness. The school puts special emphasis on giving junior form students basic knowledge and training in Chinese, English & Mathematics. The homework given is suitable in terms of quantity and quality. In order to cater for students’ learning differences, remedial and elite courses are arranged to help students improve their grades. In order to promote student's reading habit, we have a whole school daily reading program of 15 minutes after every morning assembly. English Speaking Day is held once a week to establish an authentic English learning environment for the whole school.
Our school actively promotes e-learning to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning with mobile devices, and encourages students to make good use of online learning platforms for self-directed learning.

School-based curriculum:
1. Electives: 3X. Our school offers thirteen elective subjects which is classified as three groups.
2. Curriculum highlights: Our school adjusts teaching content and assessment strategies according to students' abilities, and provides after-school enhancement and elite classes for students of different abilities.
Dividing the teaching content into small units to help students to learn and teachers to review teaching strategies.
Our school has established a STEM team to encourage students to participate in STEM learning activities through designing formal courses, organizing after-school activities and participating in competitions, so as to cultivate students' diversified development in related fields and allow students to fully develop their creativity.

Development of the Four Key Tasks:
The reading scheme "Good Morning, Mr Book" has been implemented in our school for a long time and was highly commended by the External School Review Team. A diversity of reading strategies and activities are used to increase students' interest in reading.

Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity:
To fully develop students' potential to their fullest, our school stresses on moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic and spiritual development and provides a wide range of activities for students. Our school also focuses on teacher-student interaction and caters for learning differences. In addition, our school is committed to establishing a caring, integrated and respectful learning atmosphere.

Whole School Approach to Integrated Education:
The Student Support Team (SST) is responsible for the planning, coordinating and implementing of student support activities for students with special educational needs.
For the Tier 1 support, our school focuses on building a caring culture on campus, and cares for the spiritual and mental health development of students through different activities. For the Tier 2 support, SST provides training of social skills, executive skills, Animal Assisted Therapy, Installation art and Horticultural Therapy, and so on. A school-based programme has been launched to enhance students' self-confidence and reduce their learning stress. Our Peer Counseling Programme nurtures good mutual support relationships, interpersonal communication skills and a caring culture within the school. Furthermore, our Leadership Training Program helps junior form students building the positive values of persistence and cooperation. Also, parent group organized by school social workers promotes parent-school cooperation which is of crucial importance to our school. Parents could learn parent-child communication skills and have peer support. Besides, SST also provides teacher training sessions to equip them with knowledge in students' mental health and development. For the Tier 3 support, SST provides individual support such as counselling services, growth groups and speech therapy according to the needs of individual students in order to help them to develop their potential and grow healthily and happily.

Measures to provide adaptation for Learning and Assessment:
Two uniform tests and two examinations are held in each academic year (Summative Assessment). Formative assessment is also widely used. Students' conduct, performance in extra-curricular activities and social services are assessed as well.
In addition, the teachers and social workers in charge of the SEN students will also collect statistics on "test adjustment needs" from all students with special learning needs at the beginning of the semester to understand their needs and provide them with the most appropriate arrangements as soon as possible. Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos

Home-School Co-operation:
To promote home-school co-operation, our school and PTA organize diversified activities such as parents' nights, the Sunshine Call, workshops, day trip, barbecue, etc. Through the activities, both parents and teachers have developed trustful relationship with each other.

School Ethos:
The school has an ethos of simplicity and sincerity. There is an excellent rapport between teachers and students. We adopt an integrated approach on discipline and counseling. We have a 'Dual Class Teachers' system for S.1 to S.3 classes to enhance guidance for students. A social worker from Caritas offers guidance and support to students on a regular basis and a Diocesan educational psychologist helps the school analyze its present state and handle students' problems with regard to their growth and study. There are several Parents' Days/ Nights annually to report the academic progression of students.

Teacher Professional Training and Development:
Annually, there are a variety of professional development activities such as Teachers' Professional Development Days, Sharing Sessions, Peer Lesson Observations and Common Lesson Preparation. All these enhance the professional development of teachers in order to keep pace with the education reform. Through teacher development activities, teachers can further understand the five core values ​​of Catholic education: "Truth, Justice, Love, Life, and Family", thus helping teachers to pass on the above concepts to students when teaching.

Life-wide Learning (including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be provided through Key Learning Areas, extra-curricular activities, co-curricular activities, etc.):
The school provides a variety of sports, academic and interest clubs for students. S.1 students are required to join at least one art activity. The school sets up the Shektinian Award Scheme to encourage students with distinctive performance on academic, conduct, extra-curricular activities and voluntary services. Students with excelling achievement will be honored with the Outstanding Shektinian Award. The school offers two scholarship schemes. The "Father Adelio Lambertoni Charity Fund" offers emergency assistance for students who have problems with daily life due to sudden changes in the family. The "Shek Lei Scholarship and Bursary Scheme" awards students who have performed well in academic or non-academic fields and sponsors students whose families have financial difficulties but still have the persistence to work hard for their dreams.
