Orientation Activities and Healthy Living

Orientation Days for S.1 parents and students are organized in the summer vacation so that they can easily adapt to the new environment. Bridging Programmes for Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics are ogranized to enhance students' learning effectiveness.

Our school facilities include a basketball court, a multi-purpose covered playground, a language room, a Student Activity Centre and a garden. All classrooms and the school hall are air-conditioned. Whole-school Language Policy:
Enhancing students' proficiency in English, Chinese and Putonghua is one of our major concerns.

Learning and Teaching Strategies:
1. We inspire students to take a proactive role in learning by fostering a self-directed habit of organizing themselves for lessons.
2. The English Department effectively incorporated Drama in Education, which has proved to be very effective in enhancing students' language proficiency.
3. We promote quality life wide learning experience for students and help them develop a positive attitude towards learning.
4. We also implement a wide range of academic enhancement measures, including Academic Progress Award, Homework Award & Remedial Classes, etc.
5. We effectively promote environmental education.
6. Making full use of the CEG, we employ additional temporary teachers and clerks to enhance our effectiveness in learning and teaching.

Development of the Four Key Tasks:
Learning with Information Technology: e-learning platform is adopted to promote students' self-access learning, sharing and assessment. Project learning: To develop students' generic skills, we have assigned various projects for each subject. Moral & Civic Education: The Beihang University Affiliated School has become our sister school since 2006. All S.1 students will receive training in foot drills. Besides, a wide spectrum of activities incubating positive values in students are organized to promote moral and civic education. Reading to learn: Students are required to read extensively to widen their horizons and to share their learning experience with schoolmates through the PA system. Apart from the ERS, online reading programme (Chinese) is promoted among S.1-S.3 students to promote their reading habit. English Builder Online Programme helps enhance students' English Proficiency through self-access learning.

Life Planning Education:
'Career and life planning' is provided to all students in a whole-school approach. All pastoral care committees and subject departments would work together to provide career and life planning education and career guidance to students. Fostering whole person development of students through enhancing their awareness on career and life planning is our key objective. Life and Society lessons, individual and group guidance meetings, career-related talks, workshops, simulation games, class teacher lessons, visits, alumni mentorship scheme and work experience activities would be arranged to strengthen students’ knowledge and enhance their awareness on career and life planning. We also collaborate with NGOs in providing career-related experiences to students and life planning education training workshops for teachers.

Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos

Home-School Co-operation:
Our "Parents-teachers' Association" was founded in 1993 and the school shares a very warm relationship with parents. Apart from the regular publication of PTA Newsletters, various activities such as parental education talks, interest groups, picnics, Respect Teacher's Day, voluntary service have been organized by the PTA.
