Whole-school Language Policy:
Students are put into different classes according to their English proficiency. There are also enhancement courses and LAC-related activities which create a rich English language learning environment at school. Putonghua is used to teach Chinese language in some classes in S.1 and S.2. Some subjects offer both Chinese medium and English medium classes. Bilingual teaching is implemented from S.4 to S.6 and it is proved that with the use of Chinese as MOI in our school, our students are better able to understand what is taught and can analyze problems, express views, develop an enquiring mind and cultivate critical thinking.

Learning and Teaching Strategies:
To raise the effectiveness of teaching and learning, we introduce innovative L&T programs. And a range of strategies are employed, such as inter and intra-departmental collaboration and e-learning. In addition, our Academic Prefects work with teachers to support and guide junior students in remedial and enhancement classes for Chinese, English and Mathematics, which strengthen abilities and confidence. Furthermore, language arts is taught by our Native English Speaking Teacher to our junior form learners, boosting their creative opportunities. As a result, our curricula, methodology, classroom activities and assessment are tailor-made to best fit our learners’ levels and needs. Additionally, life-wide learning activities like visits, tours and interdisciplinary project learning further extend experiences to take learners beyond the classroom and into other contexts. Another strategic measure is our reading schemes, a variety of which are offered to forge effective reading habits and provide enrichment from extended reading. To enhance student learning effectiveness, assessment is integrated into the curriculum as well as the teaching and learning process. Hence, various modes of assessment are adopted including tests, examinations and continuous assessments-both summative and formative. The Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy is recently implemented across S.1 and S.2 in hopes of fostering E-learning among our students, synergizing teaching and student learning.

School-based curriculum:
1. Electives: 2X and 3X. 14 electives are available for students to choose from based on their yearly academic performance, their personal interest, and future life planning. Students can also choose music and other languages courses provided by outside organisations.
2. Curriculum highlights: Through the collaboration of different Key Learning Areas, we aim to extend students' generic skills and self-directed learning capacities. For example, school-based signature STEAM project, Jellyfish project, where students can enhance their 21st century skills such as collaboration proficiency, problem solving abilities and creativity. In addition, our Chinese and English debate teams enable students to develop their critical thinking and communication prowess. Also, our adoption of e-learning allows students to enhance their I.T. competencies and we have a whole-school based voluntary scheme which can nurture not only self-management abilities but also empower life-long learning.

Development of the Four Key Tasks:
The school values the development of the four key tasks and all departments actively promote and implement subject-based and cross-curriculum project learning as well as incorporating e-learning elements. These upgrade our students' motivation to learn and, at the same time, cultivate their skills. Through interesting and diverse language activities, we strive to create a language-rich environment and provide students with maximum language exposure. Meanwhile, through promoting our cross-discipline reading scheme, we hope to enhance students' interest in reading and capacity to self-learn. We also infuse the education of moral and civic education with our formal and informal curricula, including talks on morality and projects involving volunteering, with the hope of cultivating positive values and attitudes to life.

Life Planning Education:
We offer our learners a comprehensive careers and life-planning programme and career exploration activities, empowering them with the skills, knowledge and attitude to conquer any future challenges. Our programme is spread across their secondary school years and adopts a variety of methods and measures to provide learning opportunities and experiences. We aim for learners to understand themselves, set their own goals, learn how to devise and reflect on their own career and life plans, and explore multiple pathways ahead.
All our stakeholders are devoted to provide an authentic and meaningful programme to our learners. This has been achieved through three key methods. First, all subject departments and functional groups infuse career and life-planning elements in their learning activities, allowing students to relate school-based learning to future educational and career directions. Second, we provide a total and authentic experience for our students by forging a strong partnership of teachers, parents, alumni, community organisations, the business community and other school personnel. Third, individual needs and differences are catered for by providing an advisory service to counsel students in the process of making important educational and career transitions. These measures combine to offer an effective and valuable programme to our learners and assist them in creating a successful future.
