Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2023 ).Assessment is divided into two parts.
(A) Holistic Development and Learning (30%), including: Sports, Music, Art & Creativity, Conduct, Academic and other Learning Achievements.
(B) Position in Place Rank Order List provided by the EDB (20%).

Orientation Activities and Healthy Living

A series of orientation activities including a Welcoming and a Parents' Day for New Students is held before the new school year commences. At the start of academic year, all F.1 gentlemen will attend an Orientation Camp led by teachers and JASERs (Senior Form students). JASERs accompany their younger brothers for the whole year and help them adapt better to secondary school life.
There is a Student Support and Development Division consisting of experienced teachers, two social workers, and an educational psychologist to take care of psychological health and personal development of students. The Civic Education Committee is also responsible for promoting healthy life and sex education. PTA and a staff monitor the catering services of the school canteen.

School Facilities (for Supporting Students with Special Educational Needs)

The campus covers an area of over 220,000 sq. ft., in the middle of a lavish green environment with plenty of wildlife around. It is made up of a 3-storey spacious classroom wing, a laboratory wing together with teaching facilities beyond Y2K standards at the Gordon Wu Hall and the Francis H.B. Wong Building. We are also proud to have a beautiful chapel at the centre of the campus. In 2014, the new school hall complex with a roof top garden next to 3 beautiful classrooms at the top floor, a multi-purpose school hall having a very spacious stage, a seating capacity of 1,000, an indoor basketball court and several badminton courts, and several functional rooms on other floors was opened for use. Other facilities include outdoor basketball and football playgrounds and a covered playground, a gymnasium, a library, two computer rooms, a creativity laboratory, a computer-assisted learning room, four science laboratories, a multimedia learning centre, Star Studio Production Centre, a music floor, a visual arts centre, an integrated humanity centre, a prayer room, 6 interactive learning rooms, a student activity centre and a canteen.

School Management

School's Major Concerns:
Nurturing our students to be reflective and competent learners; Nurturing compassionate companions within the school community; Developing the school into a committed learning community with a growth mindset.

School Management Organisation:
We are an EMI school adopting school-based management. The highest governing body is the Incorporated Management Committee which is headed by a Jesuit priest and who is also the Father Supervisor of the school. Both alumni and parents are represented in the Incorporated Management Committee and School Advisory Committee. Under the school principal, there are three vice-principals and an administrative committee responsible for day-to-day operation.

Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee:
The Incorporated Management Committee consists of 12 managers, including one parent manager, one alumni manager, one teacher manager and one independent manager. There are usually four regular meetings a year.

School Green Policy:
We aim to maintain a green campus for all of us. Used materials are recycled. With the collaboration of the Civic Education Committee, Geography Department, Biology Department and Integrated Science Department, students are constantly reminded of the need for environmental conservation.

Learning and Teaching Plan

Whole-school Language Policy:
English is the medium of instruction in all levels with the exception of the following subjects: Chinese, Chinese History, Putonghua. Starting from 2009, the school has employed extra Putonghua teachers, student's ability in Putonghua has been improving with more planned extra-curricular activities & exercises.

Learning and Teaching Strategies:
We expect students to grow to be men of integrity and with independent thinking. Students should respect and treasure Chinese tradition and culture as well as Christianity. We are born to serve others - We are "men for and with others". We aim at developing students in the following areas - moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic, and spiritual through the formal and informal curricula so as to achieve a holistic education of our gentlemen. Reading schemes are held by both English, Chinese, and Putonghua Panels. In Forms 1 & 2, STEAM learning activities are organized to strengthen their cognitive and problem-solving skills in Science and Mathematics. To strengthen our technology education, we have introduced a new school-based IDEEA (Innovation, Design, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Arts) curriculum in junior forms, through which our young gentlemen have the opportunity to engage in Project-based Learning formulated through the Design Thinking model and “hands-on making” experience.

School-based curriculum:
1. Electives: 3X. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Chinese History, Geography, Economics, ERS, BAFS, ICT
2. Curriculum highlights: Elective subjects are provided to satisfy, as far as practicable, students' aspirations as expressed in the survey when they are in F.3. To sustain our emphasis on the humanities in Jesuit education, History, Chinese History and Geography are still provided in our senior education besides science subjects and commerce subjects as long as resources permit.

Development of the Four Key Tasks:
1. We emphasize nurturing reading habits among students. In Forms 1 to 3, the college organizes a self-directed reading award scheme which is supported by various subject panels across different Key Learning Areas; Parent-teacher Association also organizes "Book Crossing" to encourage students to broaden their field of study from reading. We have also launched a QEF-sponsored “Libraries Everywhere” program to promote eReading which is over 1 million Hong Kong Dollars. Our School library, thus, has been fully renovated and sundry eLearning equipment have been installed. Students can also borrow iPads for eReading from the library.
2. Students are encouraged to continue their learning beyond classrooms using eLearning packages. With the introduction of Google Classroom and other eLearning platforms, handouts, assignments, and interactive learning resources are uploaded to the intranet. Cross-curricular Projects aimed at developing independent learning capabilities, generic skills, and interpersonal relations of students are given in different formats including written reports, web page design, video production, software production, diary, etc. To further strengthen the application of eLearning in our school, we are planning to implement the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program in junior forms by steps.
3. In 2019, we joined the Project Zero Study: Envisioning Innovation in Education organized by Project Zero at Harvard Graduate School of Education. The project will last till 2023, during which a team of our faculty members will meet the Project Zero Team from Harvard from time to time to explore innovative education practices and how they can be applied in our school.
4. Moral and Civic Education is implemented through our school-based Ignatian Values Education lessons and Form-teachers' Periods and school assemblies. A program named “Unity in Plurality” covers Emotional Management and Non-Violence Communication is conducted through Religious Formation, Life Education, and Ignatian Values Education lessons. To encourage our students to reflect upon their experiences and learn from them on a daily basis, our students practise daily examen at homeroom time.

Life Planning Education:
1. Career and Life Planning programs: • F.1 – life planning elements incorporated in Life & Society curriculum (Formation & Application of Values) and Life Education curriculum (for new students). • F.2 – life planning program on Self Understanding and Development to be implemented in Life Education lessons. • F.3 – life planning program on Subjects Selection to be implemented in Life Education lessons.• F.4 – Career assessment and career exploration programs to be implemented in Form Teachers’ Periods and Careers Day. • F.5 – Career Mentorship Scheme (in cooperation with the Past Students Association) and participation in Careers Expo (in cooperation with other secondary schools).• F.6 – University (JUPAS and overseas) planning programs - seminars, experience sharing sessions, interview skills workshop etc. would be held.
2. Career Counselling Services – individual counselling services offered by the Careers Team.
3. Data analysis and Careers Webpage - A Program Search Engine (linked to university admission figures) has been developed to help students to search for eligible university programs and a Careers Webpage has been developed to disseminate information on further studies and career matters.
4. Job shadowing and work experience/internship programs – offered to senior form students.
5. Resource allocation – our school makes use of the CLP Grant and employs additional teaching staff to support our work.
6. Professional development in Career and Life Planning – we encourage and support: Our careers teachers to receive structured training on Life Planning Education and Career Guidance, and other teachers (especially Form Teachers) to receive training on life planning skills and further studies counselling.
7. A program called “Project Pharos”, which is sponsored by our alumni, is launched to consolidate and strengthen support to gifted and high achievers, especially on applications to top universities around the world.

Student Support

Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity:
Trained teachers are assigned to take care of students with special educational needs. Fresh graduates may also apply for scholarships and grants donated by alumni to support their further studies in Hong Kong or overseas.

Whole School Approach to Integrated Education:
Our school aims at building an inclusive and caring learning community through a “whole school approach” in supporting SEN students. Our SEN Support Committee consists of the SEN Coordinator, the SEN Support Teacher, Counselling Committee Chair, School Social Workers, Student Counsellors and Educational Psychologists. With the flexible use of the Learning Support Grant and other school funding resources, we have employed a teacher assistant and outsourced services in catering for students’ learning and social needs. Depending on the cases concerned, services such as professional assessments, individual education plans and professional referrals are available.

Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos

Home-School Co-operation:
The Parent-Teacher Association was set up in 1997. It aims at strengthening school-parent communication, setting up parents' network and improving parent-student relationships. The activities held include F.1 & F.2 Parents Seminar, Teachers' Day, voluntary services, a picnic, talks, values education workshops, participating in a fund-raising walkathon and supporting an exchange programme with Beijing and Irish secondary schools. In addition, we have adopted eNotice and ePayment, to facilitate efficient administrations and effective communications between the school and parents.

School Ethos:
